Michele Starr, Ed.D.

Early Learning Specialist

Michele Starr, Ed.D., an Early Learning Specialist, has a proven record of accomplishment in both public and private school venues. An experienced educator, she has over 20 years of elementary school teaching experience and over 10 years of experience in an administrative capacity.

Dr. Starr received her Doctorate in Early and Middle Childhood from Nova Southeastern University and both her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College, NYC.

Certified as a teacher by both the New York State Department of Education and the New York City Board of Education, Dr. Starr also holds a Supervisory certification (SAS) and certification as a School District Superintendent (SDS) in New York State. In addition, she holds an Intermediate Administrator and Supervisor certification in Connecticut.

Dr. Starr’s previous experience includes positions as an Adjunct Professor of Early Childhood at the College of New Rochelle and as a Teacher Trainer for the Early Learning Reading Program of Success For All developed at Johns Hopkins University. She has presented parenting seminars and professional development seminars. While the Director of York Avenue Preschool in New York City, Dr. Starr acted as the consultant for kindergarten placement. Dr. Starr’s knowledge of curriculum development empowered teachers to provide a program that was both accelerated and balanced for the young child to thrive.

Dr. Starr has the unique ability to effectively work with children, parents, teachers and administrators.
